As a choral artist, performer and studio musician I have sang for some of the nation's leading music ensembles, including the Grammy award winning Houston Chamber Choir. Other recent engagements include featured soloist with the Handel and Haydn Society of Boston, Da Camera of Houston, Apollo Chamber Players and Houston Ebony Opera Guild.

With experience as an award-winning presenter, policy writer and current events commentator, I currently work as Communications Coordinator for Christ Church Cathedral, Houston where I serve as the Digital Communications lead.

As an Educator and Adjudicator, I previously served as Adjunct faculty for Texas Southern University, teach Applied Music- voice, Arts Appreciation and Vocal Jazz Ensemble. I currently maintain a private studio with some of the Houston's brightest young artists.

5/11/25 - Join Houston Chamber Choir for ‘Gather Round’!
After a monumental 30 years (30 years!) at the forefront of choral music, Houston Chamber Choir’s beloved founder and Artistic Director Robert Simpson will conduct his last concert as our leader and conclude our 30th season. This concert is the only US performance of an international tour that will take us to Estonia, Latvia and Sweden. Please join us Saturday, May 31st for a concert you truly won’t want to miss!

L. Wayne Ashley is a vocal musician, recording artist and digital communications professional based in Houston, TX. Heralded for "phenomenal performance" by The Boston Globe, Wayne is a versatile artist known for his charismatic vocal tone and appreciation for many genres. A member of the Grammy® Award winning Houston Chamber Choir, Wayne has performed as a chorus member and featured soloist with some of the nation's leading music ensembles, including the Handel and Haydn Society of Boston, Apollo Chamber Players and Houston Ebony Opera Guild.
